Precept information - April 2019

In the last couple of weeks Wiltshire Council has notified residents of our Council Tax contributions for 2019/2020. A small percentage of the Council Tax, known as the Precept, is determined by and given to the Parish Council.  Your Parish Council set the Precept for 2019/2020 at £50,000 which means that a band D household will pay £51.57 - an increase of 2.1% over last year. To put this into context, across the county a band D household will contribute an average of £116.67 towards the Town or Parish Council (which is an increase of 7.64% from 2018/19).

Nomansland Reading Room - A call for Volunteer Cleaners

Nomansland Reading Room is a lovely historical little hall, very suitable for small meetings. It is run by a village volunteer Management Committee. We also have a rota for a volunteer group of cleaners, who, with the caretaker, ensure that the facilities are ready for use. The cleaning is not onerous. It takes about an hour per month for each volunteer and it can be fitted in when convenient. We have room for another volunteer to contribute to our rota.

Please let us know if you can help our community in this way and if so contact Carry Gloyns Tel 01794 390482.

We will be very pleased to hear from you. (Ruth Webster is the Secretary of Nomansland Reading Room Management Committee)
